Bloomies

When I first came across some old tote bags in my wardrobe, it felt such a waste to throw them away or even to give them away for charity because some came with memories. Good memories. Then i decide to glam them up with simple ways: felt flowers.

Felt bloomies are very easy to do. All you need are bright colored felt cloth and buttons. Pretty ribbons are optional if you would like to tie them to your bag or add variety to your bloomies.

Ingredients

Colorful felt fabrics

For the designs of bloomies, you can draw by free hand or assisted like what i did, to use kid’s blocks. For one of the design, I used a star block. Just trace it against the paper and voila! You will get a pretty design.

Here, you can see that I did 2 star trace, one on each other. Once turned over, you can see a nice flower design :)

Once the paper design is done, just pin it onto the felt cloth of your desired color and start cutting.

Cutting up of fabrics

Do cut up different sizes of flower designs for all sorts of bright colors. Once done, just stack them up and find nice buttons. The buttons can be a good hold for the cloth. Don’t worry about color choices, the brighter the better and you can also opt to have color clash. That will make the bloomies even more lovely to look at. Attach a piece of ribbon at the back if you would like to tie the bloomies to your bag. You can also make the bloomies for flower girls as corsage. Lovely won’t they be? Angelic flower girls in white dresses with bright bloomies on their wrists. What a beautiful sight! :)
